Azerbaijan's Independence Day Celebrated in Australian Parliament, Strengthening Ties and Highlighting COP29
Canberra, Australia – On Tuesday, May 28, 2024, a formal reception was held in the Dame Enid Lyons Alcove of the Australian Federal Parliament, marking Azerbaijan's Independence Day. The event was a joint initiative and organization of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Australian-Azerbaijani Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group.
The reception served multiple significant purposes: to celebrate Azerbaijan's national independence, to officially inaugurate the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, and to highlight Azerbaijan's ambitious "Green Vision" as the host country for COP29 in Baku later this year.

The Co-Chairs of the Australian-Azerbaijani Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, Dr. Mike Freelander MP and Mr. Rick Wilson MP, delivered welcoming remarks, emphasizing the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in fostering stronger bilateral relations and mutual understanding.
