Security Council under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan convened a meeting

On April 2, 2016 Security Council under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan convened a meeting.

The latest Armenian provocations on the contact line which resulted to the death of civilians and soldiers were discussed at the meeting.

President Aliyev reiterated that Azerbaijan will not abandon its principal position and observes the ceasefire as well as will try to solve the conflict peacefully. The President noted that Azerbaijan fights on its own territory adding if an Armenian soldier doesn’t want to die, they have to leave the Azerbaijani territory.

The Azerbaijani President underlined that Armenia carried out another provocation on the line of contact and attacked the positions of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan`s armed forces repulsed the attack.

At the meeting Zakir Hasanov, Minister of Defence of Azerbaijan gave a detailed report on the latest developments along the contact line.
